Right off Gaffey Street, on 7th, is the historic church, Mary, Star of the Sea, built in 1958. It currently serves 5,000 families in San Pedro and Rancho Palos Verdes. If you're driving down the street, you can't miss Mary. Aa 10-foot bronze statue of Mary, her arms outstretched toward the Port of Los Angeles is a great landmark if you get lost. Just look for statue atop the bell tower.
